“Maybe they think you’re trying too hard? Or…maybe they don’t appreciate your creativity, or maybe you’re a precious cinnabon too pure for this world.” She suggested with a shrug and a smile. “Aren’t psychopaths, like, super, super obvious? Like jazzing down the street in a leather jacket, a motorcycle and probably a butterfly knife.”
“Men seem far more interested in than anyone else and just, ugh, no thanks. And I don’t think my momma would agree with me being a cinnabon. I get in too much trouble.” She made a dismissive gesture with her hand before laughing again. “That’s the attraction.”
“Maybe they don’t get that’s your name and maybe it’s like, a character from a TV show, which is wild. Worst taste, how bad we talkin’? Emotionally unavailable? Straight? Psychopath?”
“It has an arrow pointing to my face and it says “I’m Genesis” on the back of it. In rainbow glitter print.” She laughed, shrugging a bit. “Psychopaths. My brother finally gave up lecturing me about it.”
Sean nods. He didn’t want to stick his nose in her business anymore, it seems like she grew awkward and he didn’t want her to be. He thinks about what she says and kind of shrugs, “Yeah, maybe… we’ll see. I-I know that I can, I just – I just don’t know.” He shrugs again and chuckles, “I’m weird. Don’t know why you let me stick around.” He finishes his drink and puts it in the trash.
“Dude, my parents and brother died when I was like barely fifteen. Trust me, if you never reach out, you’ll regret it in the long run,” she replied quietly, trying to get past the lump in her throat that formed any time she thought of her biological family. “You’re not weirder than my uncle Ben?”
“I have til the end of the month before my “Give Genesis a Girlfriend 2k18″ shirts are obsolete. Maybe I should retire the whole campaign. It doesn’t seem to be working for me.”
