Heading home from my cousin’s. I will return shortly to finish off the baby meme answers and whatever replies get tossed at me during my trip (because I already did the ones I came home to)
send me a pair name and I’ll tell you what I think it would be like if they had a child.

Personal Head canon: When she was a kid, Thalia loved to shift at random times. Her parents had to carry a spare set of clothes and a leash any time they took her anywhere

Lex hadn’t noticed the knife until it was too late, the cold bite of the blade against his throat as he was shoved roughly against the wall of the alleyway. He should have guessed something was off from how shifty and nervous the guy seemed when he approached, but he’d just put it down to them being uncomfortable about asking for something a little less common than what was for sale on the main strip of the district. Lex tried to play it calm at first, thinking the guy was probably just some tweaker wanting to mug him since it wasn’t the first time that had happened, but all notion of that went out the window when things took a more sinister turn, Lex taking a dizzying punch to the face that knocked him off balance and sent him crashing into the concrete wall, stunning him long enough for his attacker to push him face down on the ground, pin him and start trying to cut at his clothes before Lex could fight back or struggle free.
Jeff had told him where he had met Lex and Devereux had only meant to check on him. There had been no reason to interrupt until he saw Lex hit the ground. When the diner’s door opened, he caught the sharp scent of fear and growled, dropping cash on the table and moving with a determined roll of his body. There was no thought as he grabbed the attacker and slammed his head into the concrete a little too hard. The sound of skull fracturing didn’t even register as he dropped the man and turned to scoop Lex up. His eyes were feral, but he was gentle.

Jeff was originally in med school. He had intended to be a surgeon before he got too out of hand. He had thought that being around the blood and fixing people would curb his impulses for violence, but it didn’t help. He eventually dropped out and then shit got really bad between him and Ollie.
“I don’t take it personally.” She was hardly the first person to push him away. He was just fighting harder to keep her than he had with others.
“Why do you keep coming back, Wyatt?” She wanted the truth, needed to know why he was so willing and determined to deal with her when she didn’t even want to deal with herself.
Jack had stopped referring to his father by anything but his name (and a few choice insults) since he’d finally had the opportunity to dish out a little suffering to him in retaliation for everything he’d done to him, preferring to acknowledge that Warren was the only dad he had and needed now and that he was officially washing his hands of any connection to the parts of his past that Chance occupied.
He looked stronger, more confident and sure of himself these days, his mental health managed with the right medication and a strong support network, even after Chance had tried to take that out from under him. He’d come a long way from the abused kid Chance probably mostly remembered him as, and Jack considered this a good way to remind his father that despite everything, Jack had overcome most of the damage that had been inflicted upon him and he no longer feared Chance in any way.
“Your hair’s gotten long.” It was a trivial thing, but easy to comment on. He had made Jack keep it shorter when he was younger, but it had mostly been because he didn’t know what to do with longer hair. He had never worn his own all that long.
The posture and look in his eyes would have made him proud any other day, but he knew that wasn’t what the kid needed or wanted to hear. If anything, he knew well enough to figure it would be upsetting.
