His eyes were too dark, too dead, and he seemed far too unconcerned about the sheer amount of blood covering him. It took a few moments for him to realize anyone had even spoken to him.

“It’s not my blood.”

“Well, with the present administration being as shitty as it is right now, pretty sure you could just DM them on Twitter and get the number from there.” Claudia shrugged, stifling a giggle at his response to her hinting at what she did with his brother.

“Pretty sure they’d ship the current administration into the sun long before they agreed to send Judas and Lewis into the fire,” he pointed out, nudging her a little.

Parker still had his doubts, but Sable seemed to know exactly what to say to put things into perspective, and it was guaranteed that he could never even dream of putting her through anything that came close to the abuse she’d suffered as a pup.

“I’d kill anyone who ever hurt you like that again,” he mumbled, sniffling a little.

Stepping forward, she cautiously nuzzled at his chin before tucking herself against his body. There was no doubt from her that he meant what he said, there was a reason he was her safety zone.

“I know. And I’ll beat the fuck out of anyone that tries to make you out to be a bad person.”

Theron only hesitated a moment out of puzzlement before he relented to her request, tugging his shirt off over his head and getting settled before he unbound his wings, wincing just a little with the way they ached sometimes when he kept them bound for too long, but giving them a good stretch usually remedied the cramp-like soreness relatively quickly.

Lyri happily settled behind him and began brushing her fingers through his feathers gently. After so many kids, she was damn good at tending to wings, her fingers gentle as she straightened out his feathers.
