He grinned, eyes lighting up a bit. “Don’ know how Gilley pu’s up wi’ me, bu’ ’m gra’eful.”

“Don’ know why she bothers. I’ won’ end well for her. Or me in the long run. ’M too much like da’.”
💭Ko and Thana cuz I gotta send at least one evil one
She turned away, gaze focusing hard on anything in the distance, even if her brain didn’t recognize what she was looking at. “I still love him. I wish like hell that I didn’t. He deserves better than me. I was an idiot for thinking it could ever be a good thing in the long run.”
💭Anya and Isaac
“He smells like home. And I don’t mean where we’re from. Nothing there ever smelled like home without him.” She smiled a little as she glanced down. “He’s always going to be what feels like home.”
💭Cord and Lucifer
“He needs to quit stealing my damn shoes before I murder him in his damn sleep. Lucky I love him, I swear on the ‘vette. Gonna smother that man in his sleep one of these days instead of making him breakfast,” she growled, the affection she holds for him clear in her eyes.
“I love you too.”
Warren ached over how bittersweet those words suddenly seemed now, feeling like they were more like a goodbye than they should have been, but he hoped that he was just getting ahead of himself out of panic.
“I just… I need to go for a while. I don’t know how long. I need to talk to my dad or my grandmother and I don’t even know how to find my grandmother outside of maybe Thana knowing. She and him get along.”
She was rambling, but it was to hide just how close to tears she was getting. All she wanted to do was curl up in his arms and to not even have that option was breaking her heart. Even worse, it meant leaving Jack for any amount of time and she didn’t like that idea either.

The demon smirked and dug out a pack of cigarettes. “She’s ho’ an’ quick ta call ou’ shi’. Mor’als like tha’ are fun ta play wit’.”

He shrugged, not really all that concerned on the outward appearance. “Kid needs someone to loom out for him. World’s shit, he’s softer than he looks.”
