“Oh, I wouldn’t. Last time I drew on him while he was passed out, he singed off my eyebrows in retaliation. Also probably best not to piss off the pyrokinetic kid when there are flammable substances involved.”

With a snort of laughter, he pulled out his lighter and held the flame to his skin, not even bothered by it. “Pretty sure I’m fireproof enough to test his humor.”

“Are you kidding? I wouldn’t even wanna mess with Ava. I think they’ve got more reason to be afraid of her than the other way around, especially with Warren as back up.” Saffy laughed, fighting hard to lighten the mood.

“Warren still won’t tell me exactly what he did to Evan, but I can take a pretty good guess nobody is gonna be finding his body anytime soon at least.”

“I dunno, I’ve heard stories about people being stupid enough to. The best one ends with literal nightmares getting hit with a frying pan,” he quipped, laughing with her. 

“Probably a good thing they don’t tell you. Just know that he did what he had to for your sake and the sake of anyone else that dude could have grown obsessed with down the line.”

Theron supposed for a moment that without Hecate’s intervention, he could have stood a good chance of going down that route, lacking any sort of guidance or reason, and turned loose upon the mortal realm. After all, he came from death, so it was in his blood, and the only thing that had given him any moral compass on it was a little nurturing by someone who had his best interests at heart, and that even his mother couldn’t argue against.

“I guess so. I came out a cute little skank and, well, look at dad and my mother.”

Just the thought of it was making her giggle again, eyes bright with amusement. She knew she was a very odd twist of the Fates and she, quite honestly, adored her aunts. Well, at least the two out of three she had actually met with them.
