The pained whimpers faded from distinctly canine until they became the more human sounds of exhausted sobbing, Frey’s breathing still laboured as the lingering aches slowly dissipated enough to let her respond and move.

Grateful for the blanket, Frey curled up within it, giving a faint nod despite her clearly being still in a state of distress.

He didn’t like that she was on the floor. She needed to be somewhere softer, more comfortable while her body readjusted, but Dyson wasn’t entirely sure if he could move her without making things worse

“Can I pick you up and put you back in the bed?” he finally asked, clearly worried

“Tru, that kid ain’t mortal. I dunno if hunters could do all that much damage to him with my DNA in him, especially with yours mixed in. D’ya want me ta call Callie or see if Lyri can get a hold’a someone? It’s gonna be okay. We jus’ gotta make sure nothin’ too bad happened to him.” Izzy didn’t enjoy being a responsible adult, but he at least knew the basics of how to do it. He was sure Lin would be fine, but he knew Tru wouldn’t be okay until she’d gotten some confirmation from someone who knew what they were doing.

“That doesn’t mean there aren’t still people or things out there that can’t do something like this to him,” she argued back, her brain going through all the worst possible scenarios. She felt like she had failed him despite everything she had given up to make sure Lin was always taken care of and healthy. Honestly, Tru didn’t care who Izzy called, as long as they could help her baby and she could only nod.

Muse Stats::Sable

Name: Sable
Face:

What: Shapeshifter (wolf/domestic dog)
Duties: n/a
Age: Roughly 9
Sexuality: She’s a child
Talents: accelerated healing, heightened sense, shapeshifting (wolfdog)

Sable was kept with Salem and Genesis, but she was marked to be trained to track and kill other supernatural beings. When she overheard what was supposed to happen to the twin, she attacked her handler which resulted in her being beaten nearly to death. Being stuck outside in the elements did not help and, as a result, she grew ill on top of her injuries.

After Jeff took all three of the pups, Sable had to spend a pretty lengthy time under constant medical care just to survive and still has a long way to go in her physical recovery, not to mention her emotional recovery.

Name: Salem

What: Shapeshifter (wolf/domestic dog)
Duties: n/a
Age: nearly 4
Sexuality: he’s a toddler
Talents: accelerated healing, heightened sense, shapeshifting (wolfdog)

One of the pups Jeff liberated from a ring of hunters, he and his sister, Genesis, were being raised just to be killed as a training exercise for a pair of younger hunters. He is a lot more timid than his twin and quicker to bite. He adjusted to being indoors a little quicker than she did, but he is having more issues with sleeping on the bed (he usually tries to sleep on the floor).

What: Shapeshifter (wolf/domestic dog)

Age: nearly 4
Sexuality: She’s a toddler

One of the pups Jeff liberated from a ring of hunters, she and her brother, Salem, were being raised just to be killed as a training exercise for a pair of younger hunters. She’s timid and not used to being inside as her handler was keeping her chained up outside with almost no shelter and no clean water.

“You can’t be here. You can’t be real,” he muttered. His chest felt tight and it was hard to breath. She did smell different and that wasn’t helping. But she sounded the same, somehow. Looked more or less the same. Older than she’d lived for him to see, but only slightly. The gesture was so very her. But it couldn’t be. How could it be? It was some cruel trick. Maybe he was just losing his mind after all this time. “How? How are you… how is this…. it’s not possible. You died. We lost you and… god, it was so awful. You can’t be standing here right now.”

“I died a few times. Sort of get used to it after a while, I guess,” she remarked. It was a terrible joke, but she had always had sort of weird humor. Except for Harriet, Harry hadn’t liked morbid humor. “Most people don’t get to look the same or remember their old lives, but, well, I guess I got lucky and just met the right people the first time around.” She couldn’t bring up everything out in the open, not when she knew he wouldn’t take the news that she was with Teddy again well.

“I mostly go by Layla this time around, but Aislynn’s my middle name, so I can go by either. Last time around it was Angela. Mikayla before that and Harriet before her. Sort of a long way around to get back to where I wanted to be though, but I’m here.” And a mother this time, but she couldn’t bring herself to admit just how long she had been back
