“It’s not your fault,” Quinn answered, although the words barely made it out with how inconsolable he was quickly becoming.

Angelo had been watching the pair from a short distance away, not eavesdropping, but keeping enough of an eye on them to immediately notice the rising distress between them.

“Hey, is everything alright?” he asked as he quickly crossed over to them.

Sable stared up at Angelo with wide, panicked eyes, her hand still on Quinn’s wrist.

“I don’t know. There’s a picture and he’s sad and I think I broke him and I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I didn’t think the guy I saw in the hospital was really real but he is and everyone’s sad and I don’t… I broke things and I’m sorry,” she rambled, distressed and nearly hyperventilating.

mythsandmonsters:

“He used to be,” Quinn sniffled tearfully, unable to stop himself from starting to cry when Sable confirmed that he was the same man she’d seen.

He didn’t know what to make of it. It couldn’t just be that Sable had some kind of subconscious memory of their dad that had just come to the surface when she was lingering on the edge of death. She’d been far too young to even form any sort of memory like that when she’d been taken away. The alternative explanation had Quinn falling apart entirely though and he struggled to try to process it as a possibility.

“I don’t…I don’t understand,” Sable replied, clearly growing distressed over the entire situation.

It only became worse when Quinn began to cry because she couldn’t move enough to do anything helpful. All she could do was whine and hope someone came over to help.

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make you sad. Please don’t cry,” she whimpered, unsure of what to do.

10, 12, 15 – Tucker

what would your character make a scene in public about?

It’s very hard to make Tucker lose his control in public, but anything to do with child abuse or if someone makes his sister cry, that all vanishes on the spot

what are your character’s major flaws?

He’s guarded to the point of coming off indifferent and a little cold.

what is your character afraid of?

Turning out like his birth parents. All he knows about them were that they were bad enough to warrant Jeff killing them and taking him and Gwen away and he never wants to be that sort of person.

mythsandmonsters:

Quinn couldn’t stop tears from starting to form in his eyes, even from such a brief description. Letting out a shuddered sigh, he took out the wallet Angelo gave him, which didn’t really have anything wallets usually hold in it just yet, and removed something from it.

It was a fragment of what looked to be a strip from a photo booth, but it was only one of the images, the picture faded and discoloured with age, a little creased and dirty, and the edges tattered and seemingly burnt like it had been rescued from the ashes of a fire.

“Is that him?” He asked, holding it out to show Sable, chewing his lip to try to steady his emotions.

The little girl studied the photo intently for a few moments, a deep frown creasing her brow. She forced her hand to raise just enough to touch Quinn’s wrist so she could sit up to get a better look.

“He’s real?” she asked, clearly confused and more than a little concerned. She wasn’t connecting the dots that the man in the photo, the man she had seen when her heart had stopped, was their father.

2, 5, 14 – Gwen

what was the best thing in your character’s life?

The day Jeff brought her and Tucker to Ollie. It was the day her abuse ended and she is still so grateful to have two dads that care about her and her brothers.

does your character work so they can support their hobbies or use their hobbies as a way of filling up the time they aren’t working?

Gwen actually works part time for Brittia. She helps take care of the animals at the clinic in terms of feeding, changing water, making sure they get their medications on time, and cleaning cages/kennels. In her spare time, she likes to play guitar.

how does the image your character tries to project differ from the image they actually project?

She tried to come off as very bright and cheerful but at her core, she’s still skiddish and flinches easy.

4, 7, 10 – Anya

what seemingly insignificant memories stuck with your character?

The last time she really spoke to her brother. The banter after the argument is the part that really stuck and it broke her heart to think of it at all after he went missing.

how does your character feel about sex?

She enjoys it well enough, but she tends to avoid it because she doesn’t want her instincts to kick in and stick her with someone she’s afraid she’ll end up hating down the line.

what would your character make a scene in public about?

She’s pretty prone to making a scene in general, so it’s not very hard to tip her over that side. She’s stubborn and likes to fight, so it’s not the best combination.

1, 6, 12 – Cadi

what would completely break your character?

Losing what she has now. Especially the pups and Vaughn. Losing Bailey when she was younger had been bad enough, but Genesis calls her momma and anything happening to that pup especially would kill her.

what is your character reluctant to tell people?

Everything Marni did to her. There’s a lot she still won’t talk about and the the few she is willing to are still hard for her to get out, this includes the fact that they sterilized her when she was just a child.

what are your character’s major flaws?

She doesn’t read emotional cues well sometimes and she has two reactions to loud noises only; panic attack or literally attack.

mythsandmonsters:

Hearing that had Quinn’s resolve quickly crumbling out from underneath him, but he tried to hide how much it upset him. He was thrown by her mentioning that she thought she saw someone when she was going through that though, and Quinn was almost afraid to ask about it further.

“What man? W-what did he look like?”

“I don’t know. It’s all so fuzzy but he had longer hair and I don’t really remember much. Just that he seemed really upset that I flatlined.”

She had never seen the man before and she hadn’t seen him since was stabilized at the hospital either, so she wasn’t entirely sure he had been real in the first place.
