Isaac laughed again, almost as joyful as the child in his lap. He didn’t mind in the slightest if Genesis had no boundaries around him. He was just glad to see that she had such natural and carefree curiosity like any child her age should.
He held still as she dove her little fingers in his long tresses, even when she accidentally tugged at a strand that hadn’t been completely detangled, but he didn’t even flinch, confirming what Cadi had said she could do with a firm nod.
“Salem wouldn’t come cuz he’s a punk,” the child babbled, trying her best to braid his hair like Cadi did to her own. She didn’t get it at all, but she was twisting his hair into more knots.
“Genesis, your brother is not a punk, he just doesn’t like leaving your aunt Sable,” she chided, slightly exasperated at the child’s words.
Genesis immediately sat down and pouted, not liking when she got in trouble. “Sorry momma..”
