“I don’t quit because I’ve decided I’m displeased with the way things are run,” he said, shooting her an irritated look. “Contrary to popular belief, I’m not nearly that selfish.”

“Do you really want to have that discussion?” She glared back at him, crossing her arms and mentally readying herself for a fight. “Leaving a shitty situation isn’t being selfish, it’s taking care of yourself for once in your damn existence.”

mythsandmonsters:

“I guess?”

Tucker didn’t have to say it, and Matt was a little thankful he didn’t, but it was a glaringly obvious elephant in the room regardless of whether they said it overtly.

Matt wasn’t entirely sure he could even stomach hearing the truth , if he was honest, but it would nag at him either way.

“I don’t think you’re going to get answers any other way,” he pointed out gently before readjusting himself to lie down near his brother. “Besides, even if she’s not biologically related to you, she’s still family now and like you in terms of physiology.”

If it were him, he’d talk to the girl. Some answers were better than none at all as far as he was concerned.

“I have no plans to get myself killed any time soon.” Although he knew he’d almost done that today. His head tilted and he smiled at her. “Careful, hermosa, you almost sound worried.”

“Not worried, I just don’t like wasting my time and if you get yourself killed then rescuing you was a waste of time,” she lied, refusing to let him know that she was even a little attached to him. “Vlákas…”

Doing a complete overhaul of my muses page, adding Anya in, and going to try to finish up making gifs off of episode 2 of Outsiders so I can get my queue back to running on my gif blog.

I don’t think I took a long enough nap.

He didn’t really know what the difference was between the option she’d given him, other than it was probably a flavour thing, so he went for the safe option of the venison, figuring that just plain meat was easiest for now.

Still, almost anything was better than eating what was more or less dog food out of a metal bowl that was rarely cleaned.

She handed him the entire pack before returning to her gummies. If he liked the jerky, it wouldn’t be hard to get him more of it. Angelo could even do it himself because she knew he was more than welcome on pack grounds.

“How are you liking it with Manson and Angelo so far?”

mythsandmonsters:

“You got any good memories of her?” she offered, trying to find some little sliver of positivity to get him to hold on to until he found his way up from complete rock bottom, and if she could get him to at least remember something nice, it might take the edge of things until he sobered up.

He gave a shrug before scratching the back of his head. He had some, sure, but not many. She had never really been around too much, mostly just enough to teach him how to handle the trickster shit and holidays. For someone with such fucked up parents, it was a small miracle that Chayton was even remotely adjusted.
