“It’s okay, I guess,” he mumbled, mouth already full of jerky. Not that he meant to lack manners, but he was still learning on that front and he was making surprisingly good progress for the most part.
“They’re nice.”
“They really are. I mean, Angelo’s really good with helping people. Like, some of us couldn’t be in normal schools because of behavior issues so got licensed to teach for all of us. He helps Manson with her nightmares too.”
She dug out more of her gummies, picking around the purple ones and sticking mostly to the reds. “Wait til they start introducing you to the rest of the family. Talyse is going to love you. She’s basically an overgrown puppy. Follows Manson and Angelo’s daughter Lola around with the cutest little lovestruck look on her face.”
“Sorry, I’m not really good with small talk, you can tell me to shut up if I start to annoy you.”
