“I know how that feels.” Jayne conceded with a soft shrug, although his life experiences had been a little different.
“One of the things my mom used to say was that it didn’t matter how bad things were because there was always the likelihood that someone had it so much worse than we did, even after… well, everything. Guess it was ‘cause she was a medic in the army before I was born, so she’d seen some pretty rotten shit in the field and it was her job to make it better.”
“I wouldn’t say someone else always it worse, People react to different things differently. Easier to say we all have our own pain and everyone needs a kindness,” he offered, shrugging a little. “Telling someone that someone else has it worse sort of devalues the fact that the person hurting needs a little help or comfort. Or at least, that’s what my great grandma tells me.”
