Cam paused before sitting back down. It always took a little persistence with the more stubborn members of the family, but they all came around eventually.
“I know, and I won’t be going anywhere for as long as you need me to, okay?” he murmured, shifting a little closer but letting Thras decide his comfort level.
He curled in on himself once more, face pressed against his knees in an effort to keep the other from seeing just how exhausted and hopeless he looked. He felt worse, he knew, but he still looked pretty awful all the same.
