He shook his head and chewed his lip a little. If it had been his dad that had caught him in the kitchen, he might have run before even saying anything, but he figured at least that Anya probably wanted to try to get to know her nephew. He just wasn’t very good at being sociable with almost anyone yet, even his own siblings.
“Dad might need you,” he mumbled. “Angelo said that’s why you’re here. Because they needed you to help with bringing him back?”
He still didn’t have much of a grasp on the technicalities of the whole resurrection thing, and it had been difficult on the emotional front too, but he’d agreed that they should try no matter how he felt about it.
She nodded as she adjusted her jacket again out of habit. It was a nervous tick and not one many people saw that often. Controlling her emotions was something she was usually better at.
“Yeah, he needed an..anchor I think was the word used? It’s all mumbo jumbo to me. I’m more here because he’s my brother and I know he needed pack to help in case he wasn’t in a good state when he came back,” she explained, shrugging a little.
The whole thing had gone better than she had expected, truthfully, and she was relieved that Isaac was stable enough to be near any of the kids.
