The moment Zeke’s tone changed, Arcadia was practically cowering, her grip on Jeff’s leg tightening almost painfully. The only acknowledgment he showed was to absently run his fingers through her hair.
“Never thought you were. Just saying I have no intentions of hurting any of the kids, no matter the circumstances,” he replied calmly, not at all bothered by the warning. He was taking it as a simple miscommunication on his own end and not faulting the hunter for any of it.
