“You know your situation better than I do, so I’m not judging you, but I’m just going to point out that it’s generally a bad idea to lie to kids like that. Truth comes out eventually and they don’t tend to care for it.” Not to mention kids should be raised by their parents whenever it was possible. He knew it wasn’t always, but he wasn’t sure this was one of those instances.
“Neither his dad nor I are good for him, my parents are,” she countered, her voice cracking a little. “And no one asked for your opinion, especially when you seriously thought I had kidnapped him.” Normally, she would have sworn more, but she was trying to watch how she spoke in front of Lin.
“Like what? I don’t know any magic shit. Isn’t that more your family’s thing?” she pouted, nudging him back with her leg.
“Pretty sure my dad would just bring Judas back if we tried going the “magic him away” route because, for some unknown fucking reason, that’s like…dad’s best friend. I’m not sure who I judge more; my dad for being his friend or my mom for thinking anyone whose taste in friends includes Judas was a good person to get with.”
adelaidekane: No pants, no problem 💦 @thepeninsulaparis
Did a couple of drafts but I am fucking exhausted and gotta be up at like 6 in the morning and then I’m going just out of town with my sister in law when I get off (cuz she keeps saying she has no friends and I offered to be her goodwill shopping buddy cuz I adore her and then there’s my driving practice). So, I have NO idea what time I’ll end up being here tomorrow. BUT I should be here for a little while at like 2am est Friday?? Either way, I’ll probably reblog memes so just feel free to send me a bunch of shit ❤
“Well, you do look a little out of place,” Gabriel teased with a cheeky smile.
“Don’t think I’ve ever stayed anywhere long enough to not look out of place,” he returned, expression almost contemplative if not for the faint ghost of a smirk.
Even without forewarning, the way the kid whipped around at his name gave away that he was jumpy, although he’d managed to go without instinctively pulling a weapon on anyone just yet, so that was progress in itself for him, especially when he was so far out of his usual comfort zone.
It had been hard for him to settle into the place. Although Vega had assured him the place was safe and secure, the lack of visual security, particularly in the means he was used to, made it difficult for Rabbit to relax, the habit of constant hypervigilance too deeply ingrained in him to not think that something bad could happen at any moment.
“Easy, ain’t gonna hurt’cha. Vega mentioned you were big on security, so I wanted to show you about, give you a real look at what we use ‘round here,” he explained, hands kept in plain sight so the boy could see he wasn’t armed. Of course, he really didn’t need a weapon either, but that wasn’t the point.
“After that I’ll show you the cars.”
Wanted to show off the new glasses that the babe ( @rustandglass ) helped me pick out 😀
