Zayde was still shaking, but he was pushing past his nerves and the voice in his head that had gone from trying to convince him that the way he felt was wrong to just flat out calling him disgusting and perverted for wanting this.

Oh, how he wanted this. It didn’t matter how much he called himself names that mimicked the words his father had used on him. This felt like the only light he’d seen in a world full of darkness for longer than he cared to admit, and for all the religious shit Cassar had forced down his sons throat, this was what felt holy to Zayde. This felt like something he wanted to get on his knees for and give himself over to, not some enforced lip service to a god he didn’t believe in, who didn’t accept him for who he truly was in the first place.

He could smell the spike in want and it had him pressing Zayde’s back against the wall, practically pinning him. His hands cupped the other’s face, body pressed to his, and he had to swallow the groan building in his throat. Sure, Devin wasn’t exactly attention starved, but it had been some time since he had been with anyone in any manner that wasn’t just a quick one nighter filled with regret and the need to scrub someone else’s scent off of his skin.

But this, whatever it was, he didn’t want it to be quick and over. He didn’t want to erase Zayde’s scent and pretend it never happened. This, oh this, he wanted.

“As luck would have it, I do, actually,” Denny nodded, it not taking much to figure out she was looking for a place to crash that wasn’t as much of a shithole as the empty doorways and alcoves of the Rat Run.

“They’re in a slightly nicer part of town too. You looking for a place that already has an occupant or two, or somewhere completely empty?”

Niceness wasn’t really much of a factor for her or Devin, they just needed somewhere a little more secluded due to full moons. And at this rate, she was almost too tired to care.

“Any that are easy to lock other people out of?”

rustandglass:

The gloom inside the outbuilding made it hard to tell if the figure approaching the cage was one of them, but Erys hadn’t seen anyone else around who wasn’t, so it was natural for her to assume they were and react with fear, the girl scurrying to the back of the cage away from the sound of the lock mechanism being operated.

She should have listened to her brothers when they talked about people going missing from the lower levels and rumours that they were being sold off in to trafficking rings, or worse.

There had always been talk of potential for new outbreaks in the cities, even after strict screening and quarantine protocols had been put in place. All it would take would be to find a way to get an asymptomatic carrier past security and all hell would break loose. Erys hadn’t believed anyone might actually be twisted enough to try though, but here she was and that was all she could think about.

He was glad Del had taught him and Litha to pick locks as kids because trying to find keys would have gotten him shot or worst, caged up next to the girl. His fingers were quick and the tumblers turned over in seconds, a gentle click letting him know he had gotten it.

“Let’s go before they come back and realize you’re missing,” he practically whispered, gesturing her to hurry her ass up if she wanted rescued.

The pack was closer than any actual city areas and it was better than leaving her there or on her own. He knew it wasn’t the best idea, but it was all he really could do at the moment.
