Zayde wasn’t sure why, but when Devin was at peace, so was he, as though they were connected in some way he couldn’t tangibly explain, but one thing he knew for sure is that he never felt that when they were apart.
He nuzzled his lover tenderly, scarcely realising that he was instinctively breathing the other’s scent, Zayde only focused on the blissful quiet that had returned to quell the noise in his head that plagued him when Devin wasn’t around.
After a moment, Devin turned slowly to completely wrap himself around Zayde. He was tired of fighting with the other but, more than that, he was tired of fighting himself over what he wanted.
“Don’t leave me again,” he murmured, knowing he wouldn’t survive losing him a second time.
