“I have friends,” he snapped. Not many. Not all of them good, even. But he still wasn’t going to give them up because Val didn’t like them. He stumbled back at the action, somehow surprised despite the fact she had shot him. “You can’t have it both ways. It’s not exactly me leaving if you fucking shoot me.”

“I don’t give a flying fuck about the rest of them, but I’ve seen the way that stupid bitch looks at you. She even so much as touches you and I will fucking mount her goddamn head on the fucking wall.” It wasn’t an idle threat, they both knew she wasn’t above doing such horrors. If nothing else, she had relatives that were even more creative than she in terms of murder. “What makes you think I wouldn’t be swallowing the barrel of my gun after shooting your stupid ass?”

He leaned forward, elbows resting on knees, chin resting on hands, and looked at her with intrigued. “And what exactly might the challenge be?” He wondered if she’d regret it and suspected she would. “Then I think your taste is worse.”

“Might have to wait until you’re a little more sober. Don’t want to end up breaking you,” she purred with a wink. “I think you’re perfectly fine company who has yet to get me in any real trouble.”

babyitsmagic‌:

“Anyone ever tell you not to challenge the universe like that?” He could nearly guarantee he was worse, though maybe her cousin had managed to top him. “Did she bring home a serial killer or something?” Even then, he was almost on par with that.

“Maybe I just want to challenge you.” Colette snorted at that one, eyes rolling. “That would be hilarious, but no. Some questionable people, sure, but not quite that questionable.”

babyitsmagic‌:

“I don’t even think I’d have to try that hard. Just be my usual charming self and she’d be begging you to be rid of it.”

“You can’t possibly be worse than some of the people my cousin has brought home,” she laughed, shaking her head. After all, Brynn’s best friend was a literal werewolf.

He thought that over for a moment, considering how it might play out. It took longer than usual to weigh the pros and cons, the alcohol really and truly hitting him now. Good. “Not a bad idea.” His lips drew into a smirk. “She too old to tell you not to keep it or would I be enough to get her to offer to drive you to a clinic herself?”

“She’s a little,” a lot “on the anti-abortion side, but I’m sure you could find a way to make her waver in beliefs if you tried hard enough,” she teased, matching his smirk easily.
