“I can see shapeshifters. Reincarnation is a little less… apparent.” He shrugged. “She’s still her, but she’s… not? It’s weird. And she smells different now, which shouldn’t matter and on a human level, it doesn’t. But the cat part of my brain’s a little thrown by it.”
“Seems pretty apparent to me.” Mostly because he had grown up knowing that his mother had been a case of reincarnation. There were things she did or said, memories from other lives, that she drew on at times. “She says she misses being a lynx.” But she always said how much she missed her first family more than her old shifting abilities.
His head tipped and he took a long moment to process the statement, rolling it around his brain. “Okay,” he said, giving a firm nod. “I think I can live with that. So to speak, at least.”
His acceptance was enough to make Konis visibly relax, but she made no move to close the distance between the two of them. “Okay,” she mumbled, more to herself as she nodded, clinging to that little bit of hope.

Lyri 100000% did not mean to fall in love with Jasper. Her life was already on the complicated end before that but she doesn’t regret it even a little because how can anyone not love Jasper?
Elise 100% likes Jasper more than anyone else her mother is with or has been with. (Cam is a close second in current, but ranks third overall to Jasper and Britt). She honestly wishes that Jasper were her father.
If Kit were to ever try to actually leave her, Val would kill him. And then probably herself now that the kids are grown. They do not have a healthy relationship
While Ozzy loves his dad (and don’t think he doesn’t), he doesn’t really like Kit. He thinks the entire relationship between his parents is terrifyingly toxic and everything he wants to avoid in his own life.
