Knowing Luna was interested in her and seeing it in action were two very different things. The kiss was more than she’d expected, but in a good way, and she found herself wrapping her arms around Luna’s neck, holding her close.

A small sound escape her as she pressed herself closer to the other, fingers tangling in her hair. This was definitely better than she had thought it would be and completely worth the wait to Luna.

“Because I needed to burn off some steam and he gave you a black eye.” It had given him a chance to put some of his hunting skills to good use for once. Tracking people was something he’d always been good at.

“It’s just a black eye. Why the hell go through the trouble? You know we can’t risk cops or worse showing up on the doorstep,” the feline pointed out, trying to distract himself from wanting to cry again.

“Are you just supposed to take over the family business one day or something?” he asked, if only because the conversation was something to distract him.

“No, that’s going to my cousin Brynnlie. She’s better at it and then she has kids she can pass it on to after.” Truth be told, Colette was happy for that. She didn’t want it.

“I disagree. And I’m not sure it matters even if you’re not. Good and bad are… more human concepts anyway.” And though Wyatt still acted human on occasion, he hadn’t been one in a long time.

“I don’t just mean morally.” She knew he knew what she meant but she wasn’t surprised he was still going to find a way to argue it. “Ask anyone that knows me, I am not worth the time or effort.”

Muse Stats::Calla

Name: Calla Dixon (born Calla Daniels)
Face:

What: Witch, half demon
Duties: Learning control of her abilities
Age: barely 18
Sexuality: Undefined
Talents: Unlike her mother who’s abilities were tied to a specific element (water), Calla’s are tethered very strongly to ley lines.

The daughter that no one knew Muirenn had. Ren had caught onto what Robert’s plan was a little too late to get out of the mess she had made. But she was aware enough to use the things he had taught her to hide their daughter. For a child being half witch and half demon, Calla is pretty good at not being a dark mess. Ren had done well in placing her with a good family and she only recently learned she was adopted. This has started her on her search of finding at least her birth mother and the person that helped to hide the child.

Her adoptive parents were also witches, but not in the same league as her biological mother. When Calla’s abilities began to really kick in, they were completely out of their depth. So, when she was sixteen, Calla left home to find someone stronger that might be able to help her.

It was until she came across a decent clairvoyant did she learn the absolute truth about being half demon and it scared her to her core. The man couldn’t tell her anything beyond that, but, then again, he hadn’t wanted to know more.

“Old enough that not a lot surprises me any more; young enough to still remember when I was new to all this.” murmured Yali.

She paused, watching how on-edge the younger woman seemed. Paranoia would be understandable, but she had a feeling that this was more than that.

“Your aunt sounds like a smart lady. So… I don’t think she’d mind my telling you that all magic is sympathetic magic: it tends to draw in more of itself. If you’re trying to be careful, I would consider being careful somewhere away from a confluence of earthpower?”

She stopped, before giving a little burst of laughter. “Che mala figura, I do sound like an old lady, don’t I?”

Calla knew it wouldn’t be hard to get a better read on the woman, but using magic to invade someone’s privacy was simply rude. Not to mention some things were far stronger than she and not risk the offense.

“I don’t think I can leave quite yet,” she confessed sheepishly. Too much energy flowing through her made her control thready at best. The power here wanted to be used, too long forgotten. It had practically called to her.

A small smile and a light shrug as she nodded. “Just a bit?”
