“Is that really a bad thing?”

She might not have had anything in her own life experiences to draw from that came even remotely close to comparing to the pain Chay was in, but it upset her to see him hurting and she cared enough to want to try to at least help ease some of it if she could.

Chayton shrugged, not seeing the point in saying anything right now. Instead, he slid one of the shots across the bar to her. If she was hellbent on keeping him company, she wasn’t about to sit there sober.

5 times the love for Kit and Val!!!!

One.

She had wanted to hate him. Honestly, she had given it her best shot. And she meant that quite literally. But when she was at her worst, he stayed. It started to become fun. It wasn’t until they had a food fight during a cake testing though did Val realize she didn’t hate Kit. In fact, she was beginning to like him. And it pissed her off.

Two.

Getting sick wasn’t something that happened to Valencia often. In fact, it never happened. But she had been sick for over a week and he had dragged her to some sketchy-by-her-standards doctor.

Pregnant.

That had to be a mistake. Who the fuck in the universe thought they could handle a kid? They could barely handle each other and more often than not, they were fighting because she didn’t know any other way to be.

In truth, Val had expected him to bail. She would have if she could. But he he had stayed and she loved him for it.

Three.

Willow was perfect. A full head of hair and eyes as blue as his. The look on Kit’s face when the doctor asked if he was ready to hold his daughter for the first time was one she would never forget. Watching him with that baby made it all worth it.

Four.

Her dad  still didn’t like him, but he walked her down that aisle anyway. By now, it was more choice than obligation and Val was relieved to see him standing there. He looked ready to bolt, but so did she. Half the people there she didn’t know, didn’t care to know, and her sister had scolded her all morning over “not being rude” to the “guests”.

But they didn’t matter, she wasn’t even going to keep the photos of the countless strangers. All that mattered was Kit and the way he looked at her.

Five.

Pregnant again. This time she wasn’t as freaked out. Willow was doing well enough, the fighting wasn’t quite as bad because of their daughter. Things had gotten tense, but she figured they would look up.

Val never saw it coming.

The memories of that day were in bits and pieces, scattered. The shock of coming home and finding him. Willow screaming for him to wake up. Her mom taking Willow. Britt saying she couldn’t bring him back. The sheer agony.

Losing him was enough to make her put a gun in her mouth, but the baby kicked. Reminded her it wouldn’t just be her following him to the grave.

She destroyed everything glass in the house before anyone could get through to her and by then, she was too broken hearted to care.

She just wanted her husband back.

✵ Zach and El

She might have gone a little over the top with the decorations. Though, to be fair, it was Teddy’s first christmas that he might remember and watching his eyes light up at the bright colored lights and shiny tinsel was just too exciting for her. Plus, it was fun to watch the toddler waddle about and try to help.

Elpis had just lifted him up enough so he could help with the mistletoe when Zach came in and she definitely took the advantage. With their son on her hip, she tugged him close and kissed him, the smile never faltering.

“We might have gotten a little out of hand. Please don’t go in the kitchen.”

✵ Simone and Cord for the lols

He had only meant to be there to drop off her gift, but there had been a bar on the way and Cord was never one to be sober for too long. So, the time he did reach where they had arranged to meet, and only about ten minutes late, he was more than a little tipsy.

Of course the city was decorated and the diner was no different. It was a favorite when he was in town though and he knew he was going to be getting home to tinsel and shit everywhere anyway, so it didn’t bother him too much.

Still, Cord did pause under the mistletoe and glare up at it for a moment before pressing a chaste kiss to her lips.

“Merry whatever, Simone,” he mumbled before handing her a nice, burgundy colored bag.
