foxofthewildhunt:

“Awesome!” Harley squeaked then took the time to shoot a victorious look at Shea.

“Suits me fine, brother. But you, little lady, will be changing your tune next time you want a proper fry up and you know it.”

Harley just flipped her hair and turned her attention back to Cord in way of response.

“He can only cook really gross things from scratch. Like this soup that has fish in it. But he’s okay at heating up leftover pizza.”

The demon made another face at that to make the girl laugh before winking at Shea. If the kid felt at ease, it was more likely her dad would too and that was something Cord wanted for anyone that was going to stay at the bar for any stretch of time.

“You wanna help cook and let your dad get everything else settled?”

foxofthewildhunt:

“What’s wrong?” Teo asked with a cheery smile, mockingly cheerful even. “Now. Mr takes his work home with him, do you have a name? It is so much easier to talk to someone if I know their name.”

Epiales had no intentions of answering either question. Instead, he reached out and touched the other again, if only to wipe that infuriating grin off of his lips.

mythsandmonsters:

“I’m not, but I’ve been in this situation often enough to know how all roads play out.”

He didn’t like having to try to explain his way out of things, but he didn’t have much of a choice despite how dificult it might be when what he was meant he was bound not to tell a direct lie.

“Are you just gonna keeping talking in cryptic speak level 2? Because that’s just going to give me a headache. I literally have no idea what you’re talking about.”

He wasn’t human, she could tell that much, but beyond that she was pretty clueless. Sure, he was cute, but that didn’t mean a whole lot either.

pettythieveswithpotential:

A nearly imperceptible frown tugged at his lips at the reminder, still not thrilled with what had happened there. He wouldn’t wish that particular enemy on just about anyone. “I was thinking more along the lines of not threatening your life and maybe even saying please.”

If he noticed the chance in the other’s expression, he didn’t acknowledge it. “I’d rather have a kiss.” Maybe he did have a death wish. He was almost sure he did by this point.

pettythieveswithpotential:

“You do realize that I’m not going to reach an old age, right? You shouldn’t feel like I’m gonna outlive you. It’s almost sad.” Hunter had short lifespans. It was something Chase had accepted years ago. “I can only do so nice.”

“And one of your enemies already left me for dead. I might have bled out had you not come for me,” he pointed out. He was still having nightmares from it, honestly, but he hadn’t told Chase that. “A kiss? Those are nice.”

losttoagod:

“It’s a replacement. For the one my other half so kindly relieved you of,” he said icily, still not particularly thrilled with that whole incident. His anger was more for Felix than for her, but he couldn’t actually do anything about Felix. But Ari? Not quite so immune.

She glared, not seeing the point. She had, for the most part, been being good and not trying to bite him. This was mostly because her body just full on ached anymore. Her muscles were always clenched and the abuse and starvation really didn’t help. She had been so close to freedom, but leave it to him to track her down and drag her ass back here.

“Why couldn’t you just let me go?”

thewitchandtheangels:

A grin spread over his lips. “Payback?” That was the easy answer, anyway. Part of him just thought it would look good and part of it was a desire to stake his claim that he didn’t really want to explain.

“You’re fuckin’ weird,” he muttered, shaking his head a little. He made no motion to remove the thing though. He had definitely worn weirder on dares and lost bets from Ben.
