“A dog would have given him his hands already.” Elias rolled his eyes. “Your family has lived in this region for years, your natural gave you a connection to the very land we are standing on, more than any anyone we have available in hand. Without you acting as the medium, my spell won’t be as firm and secure as I will like it to be.”

Elias let out a heavy breath, he didn’t understand Tucker’s stubbornness. However, the man could have left, yet he was still standing before him.

“Are you just going to let the remaining 10% of your family, plus your other friends to be exposed to the danger then?”

“Not a wild dog,” he countered, a touch of smugness slipping into his tone. “My adoptive family, yeah, but dude, I was born in Australia. I’m not actually from here.” If anything, his aunt Cassidy would have been the best person for Elias to try this with.

“I don’t actually have friends. Just family.” And Tucker honestly preferred it that way.

Definitely a little more bold than she was actually betting on, but she didn’t really seem to care. After all, the panties were a thin, red lace for a reason. “I think I got too many memories getting in the way of me.”

“Maybe it would help if you had someone to talk to about them, someone that won’t run because of your past?” She subtly volunteering, wanting him to know that he had the choice. “I mean, I don’t think there’s anything you could say that would make me go away.”
