Matt nodded, still obviously a little on the reluctant side to go seeking out things that could potentially throw his whole world into disarray. He got what Tucker was saying, and on some level, he knew that it had potential to help both him and his new-found siblings, but he’d still remain nervous about it until he got around to facing it head-on.

“It’s not like you have to decide right now either. But, when you do, you’ll have me and Gwen there to support you, so at least there’s that,” he reminded him before nudging him slightly. He knew his brother well enough to know what he would eventually decide and he knew he didn’t need to push beyond this.

“Yeah, I’ve heard that one before. Maybe not from a demon, but I know a few people who thought they knew what they were doing and then needed someone to hold their hair back while they puked their guts out.”

Not that Grayson had hair long enough to really need that, but Erys wasn’t entirely sure demons were immune from things that might require a stomach pump either.

“Mos’ ain’ spen’ cen’uries doin’ i’ though,” he pointed out, a faint smirk still etched upon his lips. He didn’t have nearly enough of the ones he wanted to overdose, or come as close to it as a demon could get, but she didn’t need to know that.

The place looked so… normal.

That fact alone was more than a little jarring to Rabbit, being that he was more used to the less-than-ideal living conditions most of the outposts had to offer. Compared to those, this was damn luxury.

“How do they keep raiders and the Infected out?” he asked, naturally concerned about what sort of security the place employed, especially when Vega seemed so certain he wouldn’t actually need any of the weapons he brought with him.

The question made her falter for a moment and she twirled a lock of her hair nervously. She had no intentions of telling him that Cord was a demon and that the uncle she had mentioned was Lucifer because she didn’t want to actually scare him. Just like she had no intentions of telling him about the hellhounds.

“Long story really, really short? Actual magic. Warding spells, blood magic. All it took was one getting through and getting put out of its misery for Cord to get the blood needed to create a ward to keep them out. As for raiders, this place looks like rubble from the outside. Illusion magic is a bitch, but Cord’s been doing it for a long time.”
