[ shift ] devereux to lex

blesscdwithacurse:

[ shift ] for your muse to move hair off my muses face.

The bed was comfy and so easy for Lex to stay snuggled up and asleep in without a care in the world, at least for a little while anyway. The only thing that broke through the peace and warmth was the feeling of a slight tickle on his cheek that was just enough to have him barely open his eyes, the sight that greeted him bringing a soft hum and a sleepy smile to his lips.

“Mm, good morning.”

It had gotten easier to be affectionate the more Lex was actually around and it was comforting, in a sense. Devereux honestly liked waking up next to him and having their scents mingled.

When Lex’s eyes opened, he leaned in and brushed a soft kiss against his lips, feeling just the smallest twinge of guilt over waking him

“Mornin’.”

Hybrid was too vague an answer for Rayne’s comfort, but his current physical state wasn’t particularly preferable either, so he’d take whatever help was offered, even if he had to watch his back the whole time.

“Please. On the condition that neither of us asks the other any more questions about things we’d rather the other not know. Deal?”

Her eyes narrowed at that, but she did move forward to help him up at the very least, trying her best to ignore the scent of blood.

“A little hard to know what someone would and would not rather talk about when I’m not psychic,” she grumbled.

“I’m fine on the couch,” he muttered, one shoulder rising and falling in a vague shrug.

He could have explained away his choice as being that the couch was in a good defensive spot for the main entrance to the apartment, but that wasn’t actually his reasoning behind it at all. He just simply wasn’t used to sleeping in a bed of any size, let alone one in a place he’d never been before and had yet to get a feel for the place enough to be satisfied that threats to his safety were minimal.

“I don’t think the couch pulls out into a bed, but I can ask and see if Cord’s got any like that,” she replied, completely missing the point.

When she wasn’t sleeping around him, she was at home, in her far too large for just one person bed, drowning in blankets. It never really occurred to her that the idea of a bed and room were not things he was accustomed to.
