Ollie sympathized, moving closer to comfort Jeff, wrapping his arms around the other and nuzzling him soothingly.

“I know,” he murmured softly, burying his face against Jeff’s neck and breathing his scent, wanting to take away the notes of distress that laced it at the moment. “I know it’s been getting harder. I just want you to be okay. Come to bed. Let me try to take some of it away, okay?”

Jeff didn’t hug him back or even really remove. His body seemed to relax, but his expression remained almost the same, his eyes slowly going cold. It was easier to not feel some times.

“That isn’t going to help,” he countered quietly, most of the emotion already gone from his voice. He needed to sleep more than anything.
