“Well, if you’re sticking around until later, maybe we can all watch it when she gets back?” Quinn suggested, figuring Manson wouldn’t mind him extending that sort of invitation to family, especially when both she and Angelo had been trying to encourage him to make more friends and get to know people rather than just hiding in his room.

“I think I’d like that,” she replied, glad that he seemed a little less reserved than she had figured. Plus Manson had said he really needed a friend and she was mild mannered enough to not startle, so she figured it would work out well enough.

“Daddy brought home a puppy!!!” Gwen shrieked, bouncing around Jeff’s legs like an over eager rabbit. Tucker was less impressed, a scowl on his lips as he sniffed at the air. It wasn’t a puppy and he didn’t like feeling lied to by anyone.

“Not quite,” Jeff amended softly as he settled the young shifter down on the ground. “A new little brother. I need you to show it’s safe here because he’s scared. I’m counting on you,” he instructed Gwen, the words soft despite the empty look in his eyes.

Gwen didn’t need to be told twice as she dropped to all fours and scurried over to him, immediately letting her eyes change color. “HI! I’m Gwen! I’mma take good cares of you!” she chirped brightly. “An’ that’s Tucker! He’s gonna help but he’s still a puppy too, so he can’t help a lot a lot.”

It didn’t bother her if he was scare, she could wait until he was comfy to shift. Until then, she was scooping him up as best as she could and half carrying him into her blanket fort.

“Tuck! Come on! You gotta help!”

With a sigh far too exhausted to be coming from a toddler, Tucker followed, but not before giving their dads a look that said he clearly wasn’t as thrilled as Gwen.
